Dana Grueser is a parent advocate, speaker, and writer working to close the gaps in child online safety. After her son nearly lost his life when platform algorithms drove him to Nihilistic Violent Extremism networks that groom minors toward violence, self-harm, and suicide, she turned a family crisis into a national mission.

She speaks to parents, threat assessment professionals, youth-serving professionals, and frontline providers about recognizing the warning signs of online radicalization and social media harm before it escalates to crisis. She submitted written testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee for the December 2025 hearing "Protecting Our Children Online Against the Evolving Offender," and has met directly with members of Congress on the Kids Online Safety Act. She has also testified at a Colorado state capitol hearing on an AI chatbot safety bill and met with members of the Colorado state legislature, advocating for phone-free schools, AI chatbot safety, and ed-tech protections.

Her family's story has been featured in Bloomberg Businessweek, NPR All Things Considered, Slate, the New York Post, and World Magazine, and on the investigative podcast Inside 764 produced by WIRED Studios. She leads the Denver chapter of Mothers Against Media Addiction and writes Slow Tech Revolution, a publication on child online safety, online extremism, and reclaiming real-world connection.
